Luoyang, one of China ancient capital cities, was a seat of power for 13 dynasties and is a saint city in respect of the historical and cultural background. Luoyang's importance in history means that it has significant influence in China's cultural heritage.

Luoyang belongs to the north temperate continental climate zone. It has four distinct seasons. Spring is dry and windy. Summer is hot and rainy. Winter is cold and dry. Autumn is the best season to visit the city because of the humid and pleasant climate. Luoyang also has many special festivals that are held at different times every year. Luoyang is the capital of Henan province, and is one of China's seven ancient capitals. History has left its mark on Luoyang, and there are a few very important historical sites here: Shaolin Temple, the home to kung fu, and inspiration for the popular film Kung Fu Panda, and the Longmen Grottoes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
